Crown / Samducksa CWL-309MJ-DX ST35 — Clear Red
The 309 is the most popular lever in Samducksa’s Crown line-up, and one you will find in arcades across South Korea. It was co-designed with long-time Korean player Help Me and built with Tekken in mind. Crown took what worked in its earlier 303 and 307 levers and balanced them into one lever, as its own take on the legendary Myoungshin Fanta feel.
Samducksa describes the 309 as a lever where precision-made parts raise input reliability. It is tuned for Tekken first, but it still feels good in 2D fighters thanks to smooth, cornerless motion on quarter-circles, half-circles and 360s.
What the model code means
- M: short, low-profile collar. You keep the accuracy of a collar while still fitting cases built for Japanese levers.
- J: Japanese-style mounting plate with holes that line up with most Sanwa JLF mounts.
- DX: “deluxe” build, with Samducksa’s acetal DX bobbin and a DX shaft with a removable clear bat top.
- ST35: 35-tension silicone grommet instead of a spring.
- Plus: Samducksa’s machined acetal bobbin inside the tension grommet, for a more precise feel.
Why silicone tension?
Korean levers use a rubber or silicone grommet around the shaft instead of a spring. Silicone gives a firmer, more elastic feel that is close to a spring with a little damping, and the stick snaps back to neutral very quickly. That fast return is exactly what Tekken players want for wavedashing, Korean backdash and clean movement. Only the ST35 grommet comes fitted. Samducksa also makes 25 and 45 tension grommets, sold separately, if you want it lighter or heavier later.
Replaceable switches
The Gersung GSM-V1623A3 microswitches use standard .187 inch tabs and can each be removed and replaced, so the lever is easy to service or tune over its life.

Good to know
- Korean levers use .187 inch tab switches. If your stick’s PCB uses a Sanwa-style 5-pin lever plug, you will need a 5-pin to 8-pin harness (sold separately).
