Crown / Samducksa CWL-309MJ-PLUS — Clear Red
The 309 is the most popular lever in Samducksa’s Crown line-up and a common sight in South Korean arcades. It was co-designed with long-time Korean player Help Me and built with Tekken in mind, as Crown’s own take on the classic Myoungshin Fanta feel.
The PLUS version upgrades the bobbin at the centre of the tension grommet to Samducksa’s acetal bobbin, which is cut (machined) rather than moulded for a more precise, consistent feel. The MJ build pairs a short low-profile collar with a Japanese-style mounting plate. You get the accuracy of a collar while still fitting most fightsticks built around Sanwa JLF mounting.
How it feels
Like all Korean levers, the 309 uses a silicone tension grommet instead of a spring. It feels elastic and springy, and the shaft snaps back to neutral very quickly. That makes Tekken movement such as wavedashing and Korean backdash clean and consistent, while quarter-circles, half-circles and 360s stay smooth and cornerless for 2D games. The lever comes with one grommet fitted. Samducksa also makes 25, 35 and 45 tension grommets, sold separately, so you can tune the weight later.
